YooSeon Lee (pianist) began her studies in Seoul at the “Yewon” School and the “Seoul Arts High School” with Soo-Jung Shin, Choong-Mo Kang and Hae-Sung Min. Followed by Vienna and Berlin with Prof. Michael Krist and Prof. Elena Lapitskaja she finished her studies with “Konzertexamen” in Essen with Prof. Boris Bloch and graduated with “Auszeichnung”.

 

In Korea YooSeon Lee won several competitions, a.o. Eumakchunchoo, Samik and Dong-A. In Europe she won a Diploma of the International Piano competition in Porto, Portugal (1996) and a Special Price of the Arthur Schnabel Competition in Berlin, Germany.

 

At a very young age Yoo-Seon had her first public performance. Since then she has played regular as a soloist. For example in “The Young Music Festival”, recitals at the Schönburgsaal in Vienna, Prizewinners concert at the Steinway Haus in Berlin, recitals at the “Musikinstrumentenmuseum” in Berlin as well as in Festival Concert at the Konzerthaus in Dortmund (150 years jubilee Steinway).

 

She also performed many times with Das Sinfonie Orchester at the Philharmonic Hall in Berlin. Together with the Dutch pianist Niek van Oosterum she was invited to the Preußen Mozart Festival and the Ruhr Festival. In 2000 they founded pianoduo “duet con moto”  and gave many concerts in Germany and Holland. YooSeon Lee also joined in 2007 the Wolf-Ferrari-Ensemble Berlin and gave chamber music concerts and also played pianoconcerts arranged for the ensemble. With the ensemble she recorded a “Märchen” (Fairy Tale) CD. With this program she made a Tour in Holland and Germany.

 

In 2013 she also founded with Niek van Oosterum the AmBer Concerts in Berlin, where she plays Chamber music with Violin and with Piano duo.

 

Since 2008 YooSeon teaches at the Kreismusikschule “Engelbert-Humperdinck” Potsdam-Mittelmark and since 2014 at the Musikschule City West in Berlin.
